This summer in Colorado I visited a store that was selling what was basically wool from the armpits of baby buffalo. Extremely soft and expensive. On the web I now found the most exclusive wool: from the arctic muskox, the Qiviuk (good scrabble word!). It does not shrink, and can not be used for felting, however.
